All Roads has announced the acquisition of five full-service Komatsu dealership branches located in Virginia from Rish Equipment Company.
The acquisition of the five stores, which are now operating under the banner of All Roads Equipment dealerships, represents the company’s commitment to serving the commercial markets as it expands its offerings into heavy equipment.
The five locations are in Bealeton, Chesapeake, Chester, Fishersville and Salem, Va.

All Roads Equipment brings a one-stop approach for sales, service, parts, smart construction support, financing and more for its commercial customers. Customers also can expect expert service from the same great team while gaining access to the distributor’s portfolio of complementary products and equipment lines, the company said.
Besides the Komatsu line, select equipment from Dynapac, Doosan, and Terramac will be sold through the new All Roads locations in Virginia. Others will be added soon, though, as the company’s plans come into sharper focus following its acquisition of the Rish Equipment locations in mid-September.
In fact, Andy Zimmer, All Roads Equipment’s vice president of fixed operations, said that the deal to acquire the Rish locations moved quickly, with an agreement in place in approximately 60 days.
He added that All Roads will be making significant renovations and upgrades to the facilities in Virginia to improve capacity, inventory supply, and service levels.
“Right now, though, I think our key will be in getting them staffed-up again because many of them were down to a small number of employees,” Zimmer said. “The facilities, for the most part, are rather large compared to the number of people that we have working here. Most of the shops can handle six or seven technicians, and we are adding 12 road service vehicles that are on order from Kenworth and Ford and are set to arrive between now and January . We also must build up the parts inventory for the road service fleet because they are for larger equipment that require servicing in the field. Those parts, too, are on order and will be available for our customers in the near future.”
First and foremost, All Roads wants all local customers to understand that it is making big investments in the market and will work hard to earn their trust, Zimmer said.
“I think a lot of that will come from rebuilding the service department,” he said. “As far as inventory, we just put about a quarter-million-dollar parts order in recently because the parts shelves were depleted across all five locations. So, having the right parts readily available for customers, compared to in the past, is important.”
On the sales side, All Roads is reorganizing the personnel in that part of the business to give customers better attention.
“We prefer to segmentize our sales team so that they specialize in certain pieces of equipment, whereas in the past I don’t think much of that was done in these dealerships,” added Zimmer. “For instance, one team will focus on excavators, another in dozers, so that they become more knowledgeable in their understanding of those machines, which helps customers find the right equipment for them.”
He said that his company’s expansion in Virginia should blend well with the Vermeer line of utilities and pipeline installation equipment that All Roads carries.
“It is a good fit because a lot of our Vermeer customers also have excavating equipment for land clearing and forestry and use dozers and bigger excavators for their excavating projects,” he said. “Many of our Vermeer customers in Virginia also own Komatsu equipment for heavier work. Both are premier brands at All Roads.”
The acquisition of Rish Equipment’s five Virginia locations gives All Roads a total of over 20 dedicated equipment locations in its regional footprint.
